Ex- Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Legal authorities report that a ex- physician now faces charges for performing assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
