Real Madrid brought in Trent Alexander-Arnold with a multi-year contract

Trent Alexander-Arnold's rehabilitation is progressing well, raising possibility that the Real Madrid defender might be fit soon enough to confront his former club Liverpool in the upcoming European encounter.

The English player experienced a muscle strain during a match against French side Marseille in the initial phase of the tournament on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold had to leave the field in the fifth minute, with early indications pointing to a potential layoff of up to a month and a half.

Real Madrid are set to face Liverpool on 4 November for the European fixture—just over a month after the incident took place.

Reports close to the situation suggest that the defender's recovery is moving along well, and there is optimism that Alexander-Arnold might make his initial appearance to Liverpool's stadium since signing for Real Madrid in June.

A lifelong Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold earlier said that departing from the club he entered as a six-year-old academy talent was the "hardest choice he has ever made."

During his tenure with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold accumulated over 350 appearances, contributing to secure two Premier League titles, a European Cup, and the FA Cup.

After his transfer to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has played on five occasions in all competitions, accumulating over two and a half hours of action.
