President Trump Calls Families of Shot Guard Members to the White House

President Trump stated on the weekend that he has invited the loved ones of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the presidential home.

He noted that he spoke to her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Tragic Event

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in grave state.

Vigils across West Virginia have taken place in their honor.

White House Call

The president stated he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both soldiers of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump addressed the press. “And likewise with him, no matter the outcome.”

Public Support

Attendees assembled over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of the president’s national effort to assist public safety in DC.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“Sarah was the type of pupil that educators wished for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a positive energy that encouraged people around her,” the principal, the leader of Beckstrom’s former high school, told the media. “She was kind, caring and always ready to support those in need.”

Funeral details for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Legal Steps and Policy Revisions

Law enforcement have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of violent assault while armed.

The event led the government to pause asylum applications and cease granting entry permits to possessors of travel documents.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, started his military career in 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, per the news agency.

He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey said on a news program.

Attorney general Bondi informed a news show that she also intended to meet with his relatives.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from her high school in 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a law enforcement officer with honor, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had bravery,” he addressed the crowd at the vigil. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
