Squad Ratings: England Triumph Secured by Harry Kane's Brace in World Cup Qualifying Match
Throughout a impressive performance, England secured a further victory versus their opponents, with several players producing standout displays on the pitch.
First-choice Lineup
The goalkeeper Not a save to perform during the opening 45 but then tested from an opponent's curled attempt. One well-timed sliding challenge on an Albanian attacker showed excellent reading of the game. 6/10
The debutant Tested by Albania’s primary attacker through their forward. Played more centrally initially later drifted wider after a teammate came on. 7/10
The defender Pushed up the pitch with the ball at his feet, as he has done previously. At times seemed hesitant when carrying play with the approach discontinued by the interval. 6
The tall defender A nuisance from dead balls, as always, but may be a replacement to his teammate in defense as opposed to his partner. A loose ball after the break nearly resulted in the first goal from the visitors. 6/10
The young full-back One more composed showing from the youngster after his first cap against Serbia. Saka failed to make the most of a gorgeous backheel over the opposing backline. The left-back spot is his to lose at this stage. 7
The newcomer His first start with the national team. Slightly sloppy on the ball though his dangerous corners were a threat. A handy pace-controller for the boss to have versus defensive opponents. Cautioned for a poorly timed challenge. Six
The midfielder Deliveries on corner kicks and free-kicks caused problems. Enjoyed license to roam in left midfield but was offside as the pass came with a chance to score. Granted a well-earned substitution after an hour. 6/10
Jude Bellingham Played in an advanced role down the right while also contributed with dirty work. Demonstrated flashes of quality but mishit a shot high. Substituted in the closing stages by Rogers, his competition, after receiving a caution. 7
The winger Was presented with England’s clearest opportunity of the first half, his shot well saved from the opposing goalkeeper. As a teammate staying deep, he had to offer an outlet down the right side although his balls from the touchline varied in quality. Substituted with 15 to go. 6/10
The captain The match-winner netting 77th and 78th finishes for his country. The first a typical close-range tap-in and the second an excellent finish with his head following a clever run from his marker. Now 32, he’s only getting better and England stand a real opportunity in the upcoming tournament with him up top. Eight
The attacker Found it tough to make an impact from the left. Was presented with a good opening following a pass by Bellingham yet the keeper denied him. His replacement made much more of influence in his place. 5/10
